Australian Publishers Association and RR Bowker Launch TitlePage Plus x

Enhancements to TitlePage offer brand new products and services for booksellers to attract and keep customers in Australian stores.

The Australian Publishers Association (APA) and RR Bowker have teamed up to launch TitlePage Plus, a comprehensive supply chain solution powered by Thorpe Bowker® that creates a single point of access to local availability and enriched metadata for print and digital books. TitlePage Plus now includes a consumer direct fulfillment (CDF) offering, enabling local booksellers to compete with the services offered by global booksellers, and expected by consumers. It also includes a cost effective entry point to selling ebooks with an integrated print and digital offering via Copia, an APA strategic partner in TitlePage.

“TitlePage Plus is the service Australian publishers and booksellers have been seeking,” said Thorpe-Bowker’s General Manager, Gary Pengelly. “It delivers opportunities to expand consumer offerings and improve supply chain efficiency, ultimately enhancing the customer experience. We’re confident TitlePage Plus will make a positive contribution to return on investment for all.”

“Focussed on the discoverability of book content, seamless integration of print and digital delivery, the convenient service consumers expect, TitlePage Plus makes it easier for the Australian book industry to compete with international offerings, while continuing to deliver quality customer service as only local businesses can,” said APA CEO, Maree McCaskill.

The APA introduced TitlePage in September 2004 to provide a single search repository of all titles available in Australia and publisher/distributor information. The user-friendly service became an instant hit with booksellers and suppliers by providing access to accurate price and availability and bibliographic information 24/7.

In addressing supply chain needs TitlePage Plus takes the service further.

TitlePagePlus will also be presented at the Annual conference of the ABA on 16th June.
